The Glass Lodge Skadi is located in Akranes, a 55min min drive away from Reykjavík. You sleep in a viking glass house igloo with an amazing panorama view, where you will have the best chances to see the northern lights, which will be very bright & visible due to the remote location with almost no light pollution. It is also wonderful to enjoy the amazing midnight sun during summertime.

The lodge is perfect for a family with one kid or a group of 3. The custom made XL king-size bed with a pull out extra single bed is standing in the middle of the glass house where you sleep under the stars or midnight sun. The 3rd bed can be pulled out from under the king size bed for the night. Side curtains are available, if needed.

Please notice that the glass roof has no curtains, there can be surrounding light from the moon or sun and it’s not getting completely dark. We provide sleeping masks during summer months.

We provide a fully equipped kitchen with free coffee & tea and basic food (like Pasta, Rice, Cereals, Vinegar & Oil) and a dining table with three chairs. A toaster, a fridge, two stoves and a water heater are also available. There’s also a microwave and a small dishwasher. We do not provide fresh food like animal products, vegs and also no breakfast.

The spacious bathroom contains a big rainshower in a cozy spa ambiente and cosmetic products from the local brand Sóley organics. A private hot tub can be found on each terrace. Our superior lodge Skadi has a private Sauna right besides the house.

Please note that during the day the retractable bed needs to be stored under the main bed to allow space to eat at the dining table. We provide the bedding for the 3rd person in the cupboard and guests put it on the mattress once they go to sleep.
