Zum Zeitpunkt der Besiedelung Islands um 900 n. Chr. waren ungefähr 25-30% der Insel bewaldet und 30-35% mit sonstigen Pflanzen bedeckt. Heute sind 75% des Landes völlig öde. Nur noch ungefähr 1% unseres Landes sind bewaldet. Seit der Besiedelung sind also 3,8 Millionen Hektar bewachsenen Landes verloren gegangen.

The Foundation’s reforestation area is open and owned by the general public, so that everyone can visit the tree and see how it will grow and develop in the coming years.

 

You will receive a gift certificate for your donation (takes around 2-4 weeks).

Acuparia will plant a 4–5-year-old, approximately 30 cm tall tree for you.

A metal tag with your name will be placed next to your tree.

Acuparia will email you a photo and GPS coordinates of your tree once it is planted. (Trees are being planted from April to September each year)
